The SOVA Innovation Hub is proud to serve as a meeting location for Toastmasters International, as an extension of the Toastmasters Club #3305. Our meeting location serves South Boston, Halifax County, and the surrounding region.
Whether you’re an experienced speaker or just starting out, Toastmasters offers a supportive, learn-by-doing environment where you can build valuable public speaking and leadership skills.
Toastmasters Meeting Information

- Day & Time: Twice a month on Thursdays, 12:00 PM-1:00 PM (typically the 2nd and 4th Thursdays)
- Location: SOVA Innovation Hub, 715 Wilborn Avenue, South Boston, Virginia
- Format: Primarily in person, with a hybrid option for remote participation through Zoom
- Club Membership: This meeting location is an extension of Toastmasters Club #3305 >
- Who can join: Open to everyone! Professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and all community members age 18+. Visitors are always welcome.
- How to Join: We encourage you to attend a meeting as a visitor, then submit a Membership Application to Venus Wilmer (venuswilmer@gmail.com)

What is Toastmasters?

What to Expect
Toastmasters at the SOVA Innovation Hub follows the proven Toastmasters educational program, available online to members. Our meetings will also be shaped by the interests and goals of our members. During each meeting, there are around 10 roles for members to play. This includes 2 to 3 people who will deliver short, prepared speeches. Learn more about what to expect at your first meeting >
Ready to Join?
Complete the membership application and return it to Venus Wilmer at venuswilmer@gmail.com. Note: Toastmasters at the SOVA Innovation Hub is an additional meeting location for the Danville Toastmasters Club, so you will be joining the Danville Club as a member. After your application is received, you will receive an email from Toastmasters International to pay their dues and create their profile for the online learning Pathways Base Camp. At renewal, members will receive email from the Treasurer with reminders to go online and pay your recurring dues.
Membership Costs
Toastmasters is an affordable professional development opportunity. Individuals can pay their own dues, or ask their employer to sponsor their membership.

- One-time new member fee: $20 – this fee will be covered for the first 20 new members, thanks to sponsorship from the Hello, Hello podcast!
- Toastmasters Membership dues: $60 every six months, for October-March and April-September.
- Dues covers educational materials, club support, and access to the global Toastmasters network.
